The leaves of all mulberries are edible when young and tender but flavor ranges from tolerable to bad.
While all Morus alba varieties have edible leaves, this "Edible Leaf Mulberry" variety has very tender leaves with a better flavor. In spring, the variety will also produce 1 inch long, black mulberries with a tangy sweet flavor. Fruit ripens in May.
